Our Research

We are a group of researchers, doctoral, master and bachelor students at the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics, Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia. We study various algorithmic and modeling problems arising in computational biology. Our recent interests and contributions include:

  • Computational pangenomics
  • Algorithms for nanopore sequencing
  • Gene finding using extrinsic evidence and application to novel genomes
  • Evolution of genes and gene clusters
  • Bioinformatics of mitochondrial genomes
  • Algorithmic improvements of probabilistic models for sequence analysis
  • Improved algorithms for homology search
  • Contributions to genome sequencing projects
